Hello. Please forgive my ignorance.
I have a Deutz engine in a 1999 JLG Boom lift. Oil coming from exhaust.
I need to remove the cylinder head to check for blown head gasket or crack in head or block..
Do I need to worry about engine timing or any such things before removal? There are no timing components/ gears, sprockets etc on the head itself.
Can I just remove it with no problem, send it to a machine shop to be resurfaced and checked, and then bolt back on?
What are steps I need to follow?
the engine is stamped 00420977
