Hi all,

Pardon me for writing in english.
When I'm using my hydraulics (front loader, servo, rear 3-point) over time (after 15mins or so) it develops a stronger and stronger whining noise. It's more noisy with high revs, and the noise comes when I'm either using the front loader, servo or 3-point. When no hydraulics are in use, the noise is gone. Could it be low fluid level and air passing through?
After leaving the tractor idling for about 10 mins, I can do some work again (about 15min) before the noise returns.
I don't have the manual for this tractor, and it was hard to find in pdf format, I know there is a refill plug for hydraulic fluid under the rear of the seat, but I don't know what type of fluid, and don't know the amount either, I can't find a dipstick for the hydraulics?
So a few question really:
What type of oil do i need?
How much do I need, and when do I know it's full?
If I'm replacing the fluid, what screw do I unscrew to empty the fluid?
After replacing oil and filter for the hydraulics, I guess the problem should disappear?
If anyone has the owners manual in pdf, I'd be delighted :)

Hi Martin,

here is a link to a workshop manual:
https://www.deutz-passion.fr/docs/MANUELS_ATELIER/D5206.pdf

I could not find an owners manual in english.

What type of oil do i need?
simple motor oil 15W40

If I'm replacing the fluid, what screw do I unscrew to empty the fluid?
not possible because there is no screw. It has to be pumped out.

If there is no leakage, please check the engines and gear oil level. The oil must be somewhere and it can happen that it disappears into engine or gear.

Thanks, so I just top it off all the way up to the refill plug?
There is a leak in one of the equipment (grip for lifting hay), so there has been a leak, and also I noticed bubbles and oil on a electric selector for the hydraulics mounted on the front loader, in case you have two functions mounted in front. I've bypassed this, so there are now no leaks on the tractor itself.
The engine oil has a normal level, I have to check the gearbox oil as well. What sort of oil is used on the gearbox? normal 15w40 here also?
Thanks for link to the manual!

Hi Martin,

don't fill up the hydraulic fluid up to the refill plug.
When you remove the refill plug, you'll see that there is the dip stick on the inner side of the plug.
If you put too much oli into the hydaulic block, the oil will drop into the gear box through the air-vent pipe of the gear box, which ends in the hydraulic block.

Best regards
Reini

Hello Martin,

Do not be fooled.
In most cases, the whining sound is caused by a defective hydraulic pump.

Dang.
This is bad news:(
Where is the pump located? Is it a feasible operation to replace by myself?
Not very skilled with tractors, have replaced car engines, so not completely unfamiliar with a bit of diy.

Hello,

it´s easy to replace.
The pump is located on the left side of the engine, just a little bit lower then the alternator.

But before you replace the pump, check the filters*, the oil and all pipes and fittings.
Maybe there is a leak at the suction side, so that air can get into the system.

* There are two filters, one is inside the "Hydraulikblock"

Thanks a bunch!
I'll get to my 'local' dealer early next week and get some filters.
To be continued :)
